RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical welding customer support, guidance, and training for aluminum welding end users, customers, and prospects, to further the value added sales approach.  This support will be across a number of industries such as automotive, general fabrication, shipbuilding, and others.
- To report to the Director of Global Sales and communicate all relevant technical matters pertaining to customer interactions and opportunities with respect to customer product testing, product design, and product use.
- To enhance the consumable sales effort and grow sales through effective value added customer support, which would include improving customer welding procedures, and implementing customer cost reductions.
- To assist in managing the evaluation, sourcing, troubleshooting, documenting and resolution of technical problems and concerns expressed by customers, distributors and company Sales Representatives (e.g. weld failures, gas, wire, physical properties, strength levels, machinery, etc.)
- Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of aluminum, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer visits and work performed.
- To provide technical applications support and expertise to the global sales organization and customers as required in the area of aluminum welding, including product, welding process and applications.
- To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Director of Global Sales.


QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Welding Engineering preferred, or 3 year technology diploma in welding (may include robotics), and weld process technology
- More than 5 years specific hands on aluminum welding experience which includes MIG and TIG, including advanced product application experience coupled with broad aluminum market knowledge(products, applications, and industries)
- Must be able, willing and authorized to travel throughout Canada, the United States and if required outside North America
- Must have valid driver’s license
