This is for a one of a kind Navajo Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace.
One of a kind because it was my mother's and was made by a friend of my parents' when they lived in Tempe, Arizona in the 1970s.
Lots of pics to show details.
My mother wore it several times. She always was striking with her black hair, wearing a black turtleneck with this necklace on. :)
No markings except the letters T (could possibly be a J) and K lightly engraved on the back of the Naja.
Necklace measures 29" long when stretched out. The Naja measures 4" x 4". Estimated weight approximately 11. ozs.
All beads, leaves, blossoms, hook closure and braces are sterling silver. There are even little silver pistils coming out of each blossom, which is extremely unique as my research has not revealed even one other like that.
Collectors prefer to see the natural patina that develops with vintage pieces. So it has not been cleaned. It has been wrapped in velvet and stored in a box for at least 13 years.
